Eric Clapton is the only artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. (The Yardbirds in 1992, Cream in 1993 and as a solo artist in 2000). Clapton is one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time (ranked second in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time", fourth in Gibson's "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time" and five in Time magazine's list of "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players".. He is also known for his unique and passionate singing voice that can express the heartfelt pain of an unrequited love (1970's "Layla") or intone the agonizing emptiness of a fathers loss of a child (1991's "Tears In Heaven").

Description & Discussion:

The importance of listening, learning and growing no matter what your vocation is essential to professional success and to a rich life. Clapton's career is a textbook on musical innovation while remaining a traditional blues artist. He sought inspiration to bring his message found in the blues to new audiences. His body of work is about a journey, much like our everyday lives.

The link above is from Clapton's introduction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Presented by dear friend, Robbie Robertson of The Band). If his story continues to intrigue you, I strongly recommend you to Youtube and tpe in "Clapton: Music ,Addiction and Redemption" a 25 minute interview with CBS's Ed Bradley on 60 Minutes. Its a very powerful confession about stardom and finding your path in life.

Decision, Design & Discipline:

The importance of adapting, improvising and consitently keeping ones mind open to options resinants with my decision making process. Music, particularly Eric Claptons, has always reached something deep in me and that is about believing, staying true, but never closing your mind to change, a new way to present something. There are books, selections of art and many songs by ladies and gentlemen who have left invaluable impressions on my decision making and how to assess every angle possible before making a choice. Who or what inspires you?

Think of three artisits (actor, musician, author or painter/sculptor). What do they inspire in you to stay true to your lifes course? What song or poem brings a smile to your face and a warm feeling to your soul? Is there a piece of art every time you look at it if gives you internal strength?
