Description & Discussion:

In this context, Bezos interprets the term "Work life balance" as mutually exclusive. In order to truly balance the two, they must compliment each other. Being better at home makes you better at work, and being better at work makes you better at home. In his mind, there is no trade-off. It is a continuous harmony.

Decision, Design, & Discipline:

This article gives new perspective on how I see balance. It shows me that it doesn't have to be "one or the other." There isn't necessarily a trade. Being healthy on one end of the spectrum, it automatically makes me healthy on the other.

In the article, Jeff Bezos describes the person who shows up to a meeting and immediately sucks all the life out of the room. He says it is his personal goal to walk in with an uncommon energy. What if we made the conscious effort every day to bring great energy into our meetings, family time and self care?
